Craft and industry, fragility and strength, glass and marble: the Amp collection by Norman Copenhagen, made up of and , is a harmonious dialogue of opposites and today it includes a new element, the spectacular chandelier. Always signed by the young Danish designer Simon Legald, it consists of a steel skeleton that stretches into multiple arms, each of which encloses a miniature version of the Amp table lamp.

Inspiration comes from an unusal object, a tube amplifier, which also gives its name to the series. A glowing object, characterised by rounded and transparent lines, that could turn well into a lamp. The designer stumbled upon it while he found himself repairing a vintage radio of the 60s, and thought to make it the starting point of a series that would join glass and marble.

The Amp chandelier diffuses a warm light and is equipped with modern LED bulbs. Its design is unequivocally contemporary and perfect to enrich domestic or contract spaces. Available in two sizes with 15 or 35 arms and in three colors, Amp is an impressive but simple object:

“Honesty is what makes a product understandable and is what describes the products functionality. If you understand the product, it does not need any explanation. The essence of my design is for it to be bought and used. Therefore, it has to satisfy not only the functional aspects, but also the psychological and aesthetic needs. For me simplicity describes the true identity of objects and makes them trustworthy. In my design, I try not to add any unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression.”
