Klaus Haapaniemi

Class 1970, Klaus Haapaniemi is a Finnish rising star. The artist is a designer and illustrator, and his work is deeply influenced by a visionary approach towards nature. His creations radiate a mixture of Japanese and Russian culture, a dreamy atmosphere made of anthropomorphic animals, impactful colors and folklore, and they have been appreciated by some leading design brands, from Levi’s, to Diesel and Dolce & Gabbana.

After graduating from the Finnish Lahti Institute of Design, Klaus Haapaniemi moved to Italy to work as a Creative Director for Bantam. In 2008 Haapaniemi was awarded Graphic Designer of the year, and he is currently based in London, where in 2010 he created his own Klaus Haapaniemi brand of design textiles, rugs, cushions and accessories in collaboration with the renowned artist Mia Wallenius.
