DS-2878 Sofa

DS-2878 is an original sofa designed by the de Sede Design Team for the homonymous brand. Wadding padding, and upholstery in various leather finishes. DS-2878 is available with a left or right armrest.

The year 1978 marks two important dates, one for the history of the sport, and the other for the history of international design, both of which are linked. It was the year Muhammad Ali won twice against Leon Spinks, a staggering feat for an athlete considered one of the best boxers of all time. Cassius Clay's strength and fame inspired Swiss designer Ueli Berger, who designed the first version of the sofa in the shape of a boxing glove, produced on a 7:1 scale.

De Sede offers a re-edition from 1978, in fact, the DS-2878 sofa is modeled on the original version, using contemporary materials and finishes. The DS-2878 has a two-tone upholstery, typical pleats at the edges, and lacing at the glove opening, which is also the foot end of the chair. The soft de Sede leather and padding guarantee extraordinary seating comfort.
