1967: the decade is about to end, the Beatles launch All You Need is Love and across the ocean Jim Morrison sings the provocative Light my fire. Interior design is literally revolutionized by the use of injection moulded plastic injection, an affordable, versatile and colorful material.

The Panton Chair is a significant example, the first chair produced from a single block of polypropylene. Verner Panton designed the prototype in 1960, but the series production began in 1967, and was an instant success.

The secret is in the sinuous and ergonomic shape. The Panton Chair is now iconic, thanks to the 90s cover of Vogue UK that brought luck to Kate Moss as well.

A museum piece that never gets old, and indeed is continually renewed with new finishes. The last one, the Sunlight limited edition, stands out for its bright yellow.

Equally famous and practical, Componibili Kartell are produced continuously for fifty years. Signed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri, debuted at the Milan Furniture Fair 1967 and impose themselves as a versatile solution to keep any object in order, in several rooms of the house. The key to success in this case is the simplicity of assembling: the various containers fit together vertically, without screws or tools.

In conclusion, three exceptional lamps.

Pirellone and Pirellina by Gio Ponti for Fontana Arte are a tribute to the most famous building in Milan, designed by the same architect. The lamps, a floor and the other from the table, have a simple structure but solid, glass and metal.

1967 is also the year when Giancarlo Mattioli designed the now legendary lines of the table lamp Nesso. The starting point was a competition organized by Domus, the result a piece of furniture that makes the elegant ABS resin, a material for the innovative era, the same of Kartell Componibili.

Last but not least, a lamp that seals the irony of the Castiglioni brothers, Snoopy Flos. A design that is inspired by the unmistakable profile of the comic dog, enhanced by the use of marble for the support and the polished finish of the reflector.
