Zanat Touch Bench

The functional backless bench Touch, is a creation by Studioilse for the brand Zanat. Made in two sizes, it is available in different finishes. This bench is part of the Touch collection.

To touch means both to feel physically and to feel emotionally. Touch is a collection of universal benches and other objects. Their special quality lies in their hand-carved surfaces that engage our instinct to feel something on a sensory level and reflect our search for a more tactile environment in the digital age. The benches are handmade in Bosnia and Herzegovina using the wood carving skills of Zanat, currently a candidate for the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list. The carvings on the benches take two days to execute and because the craftsmen carve the pieces at random, without patterns, each bench is unique as no two carved surfaces will ever look the same.
