Inspired by the old tube amplifiers of the 1960s, Amp Small EU is a pendant lamp with an understated and refined design. The unique shapes and classic materials of marble and glass add a nostalgic yet contemporary touch. The decorative bulb emits an extraordinary glow through the gold/green and smoke/black glass shades, while the opacity of the White/White glass highlights the shape of the lamp, making it appear as a pure and ghostly aesthetic silhouette. Young, curious and talented, Simon Legald is a Danish designer born in 1986. Graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenaghen, in 2012, he has shown immediately an extraordinary ability to put in dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. Legald’s projects highlight a remarkable honesty that brings him to combine functional aspects, psychic and aesthetic needs. Simple and essential shapes define the identity of the objects without useless details, in which structural features are able to communicate the idea behind product. From the beginning of his career, the thirty-year-old designer collaborated with the Danish brand Normann Copenhagen, realizing a great number of articles like the Form series.
