Autumn light makes the colors more subdued. Grays dominate and everything around us is more discreet and whispered. The desire to enjoy the house again, a home that is no longer summery, in which so many details take care of us that we are preparing, in these months, to face the winter. Short days and low light are the dynamics with which the Nordic countries have to deal in most of the year. That's why we have so much to learn from them about home styling this season. And indeed, by reviewing some of the main Scandinavian furnishing companies, we have discovered many new interesting and perfect projects to make us love this season and its unique and intense colors. One trait unites them all: the tactile experience, carefully treated through a careful choice of fabrics and materials, and the chromatic proposal, which favors and enhances the discreet and subdued nature of autumn.

Fritz Hansen

The theme of the autumn proposal of this company born in Denmark is "Daily Delight" that is: daily pleasures, those little attention to be given to ourselves, to those around us and to our home so that every day is special. And a piece of furniture designed to welcome us and make us feel at ease is a good starting point. The  Fred  armchair (on the cover), designed by the Spanish Jaime Hayon  is a confirmation of this intension: Fred in Danish means peaceful. Graceful and enveloping, it is perfect to welcome our convivial and relaxing moments. And it seems to find the harmony between the Spanish creative spirit and the Scandinavian design rigor that complement each other perfectly.

Hay

Bonbon lamp and Silhouette sofa by Hay

Light is a characterizing element of autumn: natural light becomes more delicate and precious, to be integrated with a whispered and decorative artificial light. In Scandinavian homes, the almost absence of natural winter light is not filled with intense artificial lights, but only softened by soft lights that invite you to take advantage of this season to slow down. The Ana Kraš’  Bonbon Lamp is a lantern woven by hand with traditional weaving techniques that give life to the consistent weave that characterizes the lampshade. The textured colors reflect those used by the designer for her paintings and being hand-made, the lampshades all differ from one another, albeit to a small extent. In the image it is combined with the Silhouette  sofa by Gam Fratesi in an intense shade of blue that contributes to making the environment relaxing.

Muuto

Doze lounge chair by Muuto

Enveloping and equipped with a footrest: the Doze lounge chair designed by Anderssen & Voll for Muuto  is an invitation to take time for oneself. The appearance is characterized by a large and high backrest, almost oversized for the seat but precisely for this reason. Its intentions are a tribute to Scandinavian design, topped off with a touch of 70s style, recently revived, to be found also in the metal feet and the stylized shapes of the armchair. Extremely versatile, it is designed for private and public environments, for convivial moments but also for personal relaxation.

Ferm Living

Rico armchair by Ferm Living

The tactile experience is at the heart of the collection proposed by Ferm Living  for this fall. Nature, handmade, recycled materials and colors ranging from ebony to ivory, electric blue to spice colors characterize the collection, marking a new chromatic trend that abandons pastel shades in favor of more intense choices. Gritty, to give energy and warmth to the first cold days. In the image, the Rico armchair, sculptural and soft.
